November brings us to one of our favorite dinners of the year, exploring the Vajra Family Barolos and other new releases from their family run winery.

Kevin Natoli, the Vajra Family’s stateside representative, will be here to share the family's lore, wines and enthusiasm alongside six-courses of Italian-inspired delights from Executive Chef Ellie & the Locke Store kitchen.

Birchrun Hills Farm

We are so excited to highlight a new local cheesemaker in our cheese case! Owned and operated by the Miller family in Chester Springs, PA, Birchrun Hills Farm is as passionate about producing good food as they are contributing to their surrounding environment. Their small herd of holsteins is pasture raised and grass fed, and they focus a great deal on soil health by contributing organic matter back to the soil, thus increasing the level of nutrients and creating healthier, fertile soil. We are proud to offer four of their delicious, cow's milk cheeses: Red Cat, Little Chardy, Ola, and Birchrun Blue.

Coco Food Co

A food company started by a home chef, for home chefs. with the hope of making healthy eating as simple, delicious, and achievable as possible.
Coco's focus on the customer service end of their business has resulted in products that are truly shaped by their customer's ideal products. We've fallen in love with their salad dressings, which are intensely flavorful and versatile, in addition to being vegan, gluten free, and certified organic. Spicy Carrot Ginger is a revelation on red cabbage slaw or roasted veggies, while Miso Green Goddess adds a savory and herbal note that pairs perfectly with grain salads. Both dressings make a fantastic marinade as well!

Barnacle Foods

It's always intoxicating to learn about a company started by individuals who truly care about their product, but when that product is so good that it stands on its own as well being regenerative to the planet, it's a noteworthy product. Barnacle Foods is based in Juneau, Alaska and started by three friends determined to build community around food in the place they love while protecting its natural resources. Barnacle's business is based around one ingredient: bull kelp (yes, like seaweed!). In addition to being packed with nutrients and minerals, as well as salty, savory, umami (all the flavors we love!), kelp is also one of the earth-friendly ingredients we know of. It requires no arable land or fresh water to grow, using fewer resources to grow than other crops, and has also been found to absorb carbon from the sea, reversing the effects of acidification due to climate change. Barnacle uses both wild kelp and farmed kelp in their products. Both ingredients are harvested by hand, in small batches, and with extreme care and respect to preserve the integrity of each plant and its habitat. From kelp-based Furikake seasoning to serrano pepper bullwhip hot sauce, Barnacle is doing the work to bring deeper respect and awareness of of all the ways we are connected to our unique ecosystems..
