Roeno ‘Tera Alta’ Pinot Grigio 2022

Origin:
 Alto Adige, Italy
Retail:
$17.95 | Sale: $16.16

The commitment and passion of the Cantina Roeno winery has been going on for over fifty years. The love for viticulture and the territory can be seen in the name: "Roeno", in fact, is the combination of "Ro" from Rolando, the name of the founder of the company, and the Greek word "Enos", which means wine. The Estate is located on the border between the province of Verona and the province of Trento, at the foot of Monte Baldo in the locality of Belluno Veronese. The vineyards stretch across the Adige Valley, reaching in the north also Trentino Alto Adige and to the south the area of Bardolino. This extending area allows the identification of the most suitable soil to each variety cultivated. This is why Roeno produces wines of great elegance and personality.  After fermentation, 70% of the wine remains in contact with the lees for approximately six months in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation. The remaining 30% is aged in barrels where the malolactic fermentation takes place. Intense and persistent, with soft pear and tropical notes clearly recognizable. Elegant and velvety, well balanced with acidity and tropical fruitiness. 100% Pinot Grigio

Boniperti Rosa Di Sera 2022

Origin:
Fara, Italy
Retail:
$22.95 | Sale: $20.66

The Boniperti family goes back several generations in Alto Piemonte, witnessing the "long fable" of evolution in the wine region. After two world wars and an Italian industrial revolution in the 1950’s, many young locals left for Milan, leaving the vineyards abandoned by the late 1960s. Gilberto Boniperti, now stewarding the family farm, drew inspiration from his grandfather Barton to revive the land. This movement, embraced by Gilberto's peers, has revitalized Alto Piemonte. Gilberto, studying agriculture and oenology in Milan in 2003, reclaimed his grandfather's vineyards, replanting Nebbiolo. Today the property includes 4 hectares of vines in the area around Barengo, is planted not only with Nebbiolo, but also the typical Alto Piemonte varietal Vespolina as well as a little Barbera. Pale pink color, aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, pomegranate and fresh acidity. 100% Nebbiolo

Boniperti ‘Carlin’ Nebbiolo 2020

Origin: Colline Novaresi, Italy
Retail:
$23.95 | Sale: $21.56

The general area, known as Colline Novaresi (the hills of the Novara river), was granted DOC status in 1994 and shares terroir with DOCs Fara and Boca, as well as the Ghemme DOCG. All benefit from a sub-alpine climate, a southern exposure and fast-draining glacial soil that is notably more acidic than the soils of Langhe, which results in less tannic wines. Mid-weight everyday Nebbiolo; beautiful mid-ruby color, rose-petals, red fruit, very fresh, some mineral notes, aged entirely in stainless steel. 100% Nebbiolo

Le Marie Dolcetto 2020

Origin: Piemonte, Italy
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale:  $17.96

Le Marie is a small, family-run farm and winery in Barge, which is in NW Piemonte near the French border. Barge sits at the foot of Monte Viso and Monte Bracco. The vineyards sit between 400-450 m.a.s.l and survived WWII.  The winery, like many, is in transition between generations as Valerio’s children, Simona and Daniele, take over. The winery was founded in 2000. They have 25 acres in 14 plots. Le Maria's 100% Dolcetto is from the estate's vineyards in the DOC Pinerolese, which comprises just 30 hectares of vineyards in the foothills of the western Alps, near the French border. The 1-hectare vineyard is 20 years old on mineral-rich red clays on schist soils. All grapes are destemmed and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, then aged only in tank for a short time to preserve the freshness of the wine. Vibrant purple color with ruby highlights. Aromas of dark forest fruits, cherry, blackberry, liquorice and spice. The palate is rich and deep with flavors of black fruits, plums, violet, cocoa and a finish of almonds. Enjoy with cured meats and cheeses. 100% Dolcetto
