October One
Bluemont, Virginia
October One Vineyard, or O1V, is a 30-acre vineyard located in Loudoun County. October One commemorates the wedding anniversary of owners Bob and Loree Rupy and is meant to symbolize their commitment to high-quality grape growing. They also recognize the parallels that can be drawn between marriage and nurturing a vineyard. October One wines are 100% estate grown and made in very limited quantities with the strictest attention to high-quality fruit, artisan practices, and painstakingly careful crafting. With over 15 years of experience in the wine industry, October One is committed to crafting high-quality wines that express the terroir and vintage year after year. All wines at October One are single-vineyard, single-varietal wines to provide context for understanding not only the area but also the effect Mother Nature has on the vintage of a wine. The paint stripe on the label mirrors those on every end post at the vineyard, a different color for each varietal grown, and a reminder that the farming of great quality wines begins in the vineyard. Our friend Nate Walsh is the winemaker and extracts just the right balance with each of these varieties.
