Domaine Fichet Mâcon-Villages ‘La Crépillionne’ 2022

Origin:
Bourgogne, France
Retail:
$21.95 | Sale: $19.96

One of just three producers in the village of Igé, Domaine Fichet is a regional pillar that occupies some of the oldest and most reputable terroirs in the Mâconnais. From those esteemed sites, brothers Pierre-Yves and Olivier Fichet craft classic white and red Bourgogne, plus complex Gamay and fresh Aligoté. The winemaking lineage of Fichet can be traced back to 1408 and then Marius Fichet started the domaine in 1976. His sons now work in perfect tandem: Pierre-Yves cultivates the vineyards, then hands the baton to Olivier for the winemaking. They handle every part of the process on themselves, vinifying their grapes in many small parcels, and tailoring the cellar regimen to each one. Their roster features single-vineyard cuvées, village-level bottlings, and limited releases, which have all garnered praise from numerous French and international publications. Fruity, young, and fresh. Pair with grilled fish or goat cheese. 100% Chardonnay

Laurent Miquel Rosé 2023

Origin: Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Retail:
$13.95 | Sale: $12.56

For 8 generations, the Miquel family has been making wine at Château Cazal Viel in the Languedoc region of southern France. The latest family winemaker has a very distinct personal style and strives to create exceptional wines that are balanced, elegant, and have crisp minerality, while also perfectly capturing the true character of the region. For Laurent, wine is above all purely a matter of vines and terroir: low-yields, hard work in the vineyard, and respect for the land are essential to success. This passion and dedication creates wines that surprise and delight those who taste them. Together with his Irish wife, Laurent is creating his own chapter in this long history which he, in turn, will pass on to his children. The grapes for this wine are harvested at night because that’s when they are crisper in the lower temperatures. A fresh, light rose with hints of red fruits, strawberries, and redcurrants. 80% Cinsault, 20% Syrah
