Spring Seed Wine Co offers a range of organic wines inspired by the beauty and simplicity of vintage flower seed packets. Made from organic grapes from their McLaren Vale vineyards with a light hand, the Spring Seed Wine Co range includes refreshing whites, elegant reds, and sparkling wines. Their certified organic grapes are grown and processed without synthetic chemicals, fertilisers or GMO’s. This blend is 51% Sauvignon Blanc and 49% Semillon. The grapes are picked early and at night to preserve gentle flavours and natural acidity, then brought to the winery. Both varieties are gently pressed off skins and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks.
Spring Seed Wine Co, Shiraz 2020
Origin: Australia
Retail: $28.95| Sale: $26.06
This is the 13th version of the Scarlet Runner, and in reality, nothing much has changed in the way it is made since the first vintage back in 2008. Grapes are picked based on flavour and sugar ripeness and then fermented traditionally in open vessels, some in older oak barrels and some in tanks. They mature the Shiraz in older oak (about 10% new oak barrels) because they want to showcase classic McLaren Vale characteristics of spice, red fruits and chocolate in a fresh and modern style of Shiraz. The grapes are sourced from Bradens, Chanticleer, and the Hill, with a smidge from the Winery Block and Dutchmans.
