Talley Vineyards Chardonnay 201

6

Retail: $29.95 | Sale $26.95

It’s magical how this Arroyo Grande Valley Chardonnay packs both subtlety and richness into the same package. This wine opens with light aromas of honeysuckle, golden apple, and brioche before intensifying into cashew, peach, and tangerine. The palate surrounds caramelized peach and apple flavors yet cuts through with lemony acidity and a chalky texture, finishing with light caramel and butter. Enjoy this classic Chardonnay with light seafood fare, such as steamed mussels or Dungeness crab. It’s an estate Chardonnay that will keep for at least 7-8 years.

Charles Bove Touraine Brut Rose NV

Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

This cuvée is made according to the Méthode Traditionnelle process. The bubbles are very fine, abundant and long-lasting in the flute. Its bouquet is very fruity with scents of cherries, fresh-baked bread, chalky soil tones, dried rose petals, and a touch of spice. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused, and shows fine mid-palate depth. It has bracing acids of youth, frothy mousse and very good length, with grip on the complex finish. Perfect as an aperitif, yet it is a surprisingly versatile wine that can complement many lighter style dishes such as Asian cuisine or poultry.

Yacoubian-Hobbs Areni Rind 2015

Retail: $39.95 | Sale $35.95

Internationally renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs and the Yacoubian family journey to the Birthplace of Wine to craft this world-class wine from the indigenous variety Areni, found in the high altitude, mineral-rich soils of Vayots Dzor, Armenia. Their newly planted vineyards grow a stone’s throw away from the Areni-1 cave, the oldest known winery dating from over 6,000 years ago. In Rind, the ancient Areni grape thrives in rich volcanic and limestone soils. Hot summers are tempered by cooler temperatures at these high elevation sites, and much needed water is provided by the melting snowcaps atop Mount Ararat. Pure purple with a violet rim in the glass, this wine opens with aromas of blueberry, black fruit, and pepper convey the vibrancy that is yet to come. Flavors of bright black cherry, fresh strawberry, and blackberry seem to flood the palate, like the juices of fresh fruit. Balanced, structured, and lively, this wine will fare well with a variety of cuisines or give immense pleasure sipped on its own.

Jason Stephens Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Retail: $23.95 | Sale $21.55

Gilroy, California is known as the garlic capital of the world, but also happens to be a particularly good environment for growing grapes (which have been thriving there for over 300 years). Aromas of black pepper, fresh marjoram, and dried strawberry aromas welcome you into the glass. The palate shows an herbal backbone full of peppercorns and oregano, giving depth to the snappy black-raspberry flavors.

1821 Blood Orange & Ginger Shrub

Retail: $25.95 | Sale: $23.35

If you’re not familiar with shrubs this is a great place to start. Crisp blood orange gets a healthy kick of spicy fresh ginger in this favorite. Fabbri Amarena Cherries

Ceramic Jar 21oz - Retail: $24.95 | Sale: $22.45
Glass Jar 8oz - Retail: $14.95 | Sale: $13.45

These luscious and intensely flavorful amarena cherries from the province of Emilia-Romagna are one of the most sought-after all-over Europe. The Fabbri family has been producing these luxurious wild cherries in syrup since 1905 from the guarded original recipe of founder Gennaro Fabbri. The local cherries which are a dark red variety with a sweet and slightly bitter flavor are preserved in a rich syrup made from the juice of the same fruit. Try using these special amarena cherries in place of any dish that requires ordinary candied cherries. You will find no end to using them. Use them for toppings, over pancakes, ice cream, dessert, champagne and even a glass of seltzer.
