Pelle Menetou-Salon Morogues Blanc 2017

Origin: France
Retail: $25.95 | Sale $23.35

Domaine Pellé is a fourth generation estate run by the talented and hard-working Paul-Henry Pellé. The winery was officially started in the 1950s, though earlier generations of the Pellé family had produced wine even before then, selling barrels to local Brasseries as far as Brouges in the early 20th century. Coming from the far eastern end of the Loire Valley, this distint mineral-laden Sauvignon Blanc from the under-the-radar-appellation Menetou-Salon is a wonderful alternative to a great Sancerre. The nose is pure with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. The palate is racy, followed by a saline/mineral finish that give this wine a beautiful clarity and precision.

Granite Heights is a small, boutique winery run by husband and wife team, Luke and Toni Kilyk in Warrenton, VA. The result is a pleasing combination of ripe pear and apple, notes of clove and lemon zest with fresh acidity.

Cru Monplaisir Bordeaux Superieur 2016

Origin: France
Retail: $19.95
| Sale $17.95

Produced by a female winemaker, which is not too common in Bordeaux, this wine strikes a modernist note. It’s round, supple and concentrated, offering a mouthful of flavors; dark fruits, soft tannins and great chocolate notes! Crafted in a polished style, this wine offers classic Bordeaux aromatics of plums, figs, graphite, black currant and a touch of oak. Cabernet adds structure and firmness to otherwise silky tannins, and the wine finishes
moderately long and fresh.
