Ovum 'Big Salt' White Blend 2018

Origin: Oregon
Retail: $21.95 | Sale: $19.75

Founded by husband-and-wife duo John House and Ksenija Kostic in 2011, Ovum is a celebration of the diverse expressions of Oregon Riesling. They achieve this bright, fresh, and dry white by letting mother nature create complexity – they allow all of the grapes to ferment together, with native yeast. There is grit and saltiness in the wine, along with floral, honeysuckle and tropical fruit notes balanced by chalky texture and minerality. A supremely satisfying aromatic sipper, and excellent food wine at a value price.

Lyrarykis Kotisfall Syrah 2016

Origin: Greece
Retail: $15.95 | Sale: $14.35

Domaine Lyrarakis, established in 1966, is located in the mountainous commune of Alagni (440 metres above sea-level), south of the city of Heraklion, in Crete. The Lyrarakis Red is a blend of Syrah and the indigenous variety Kotsifali. Here Syrah lends plush berry fruit and soft tannins to the blend, tempered by Kotsifali’s fresh fruit profile. A rich mouth-feel combines with smooth tannins and a peppery spice. The finish is long and defined with notes of toasted sesame and black cherry. A wonderful introduction to Cretan wine, pairs well with grilled or roasted meats and hard cheeses.

Cosimo Taurino Salice Salentino Rosso Riserva 2010

Origin: Italy

The Taurino family has been growing grapes and making wines in Puglia for seven generations. Today, the estate encompasses 80 hectares of vineyards planted almost exclusively with local varieties Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes; this bottling is a 90/10 blend of the two. These deep, dark grapes of the region combined with age in bottle gives it an earthy, spicy, and black-fruit note. Flavors of pepper, cola and cherries follow through to a long, satisfying finish.
