Menade Rueda Verdejo 2018

Origin: Spain
Retail: $17.95 | Sale: $16.15

Menade farms 160 hectares of vines in Rueda located mainly in the northern part of the DO near the Duero river. Of this, 120 are planted with Verdejo including an ancient, ungrafted, 30 hectare parcel of bush vines. The wine appears a clear and bright pale yellow with green hues. The bouquet jumps out of the glass with finely woven aromas of citrus, subtle florals, and an undertone of minerals. The palate is balanced and voluptuous with pear, herbaceous notes such as fennel and thyme, and a slightly bitter citrus pith on the finish.

Gavi La Zerba 2018

Origin: Italy
Retail: $15.95 | Sale: $14.35

In 1973, Ida Cozzio and Livio Lorenzi purchased La Zerba, a country estate in Ligurian-Piedmont Apennines, amongst the beautiful green hills of Gavi. At 1,476 feet above sea level, they yield crisp white wines with zesty, mineral characteristics. The vineyard produces classic Gavi, and fully converted to organic viticulture with the 2015 harvest. This particular vintage shows a pale straw/yellow color, a delicate and quite elegant bouquet with a pleasing floral scent mingled with honeydew melon. Round on the palate, a nice body and a good balance between acidity and the ripe fruits. The finish is long, clean and persistent.

Weingut Stadt Krems was founded in 1452 as a source of revenue for the hospital of Krems and is one of the oldest wineries in Austria. The municipality of Krems still owns the 560-year old winery and is today one of the best in the region. Sourced from mainly primary rock and gravel soils on terraced sites near Stein, this dry Riesling was vinified in stainless steel tanks and bottled after a short period resting on its fine lees. Figuière is located in La Londe-les-Maures between Marseille and Nice with vineyards that lie just a few hundred meters from the Mediterranean Sea. Over a period of 25 years, the Combard Family has grown Figuière to its current size of 210 acres. Méditerranée is intended as easy-to-enjoy wine with a soft profile made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. A two to three-hour maceration prior to vinification brings a pale melon color to this classic southern French rosé. Aromas and flavors of peach, orange skin and white flowers are accented by refreshing acidity and a salty minerality thanks to the influence of the sea.

Cote de Brouilly is at the southern tip of the Cru Beaujolais map. This Cru produces some of the most robust and ripe wines of the region, as the steep up to 48 degree slopes add to the intensity.
