La Zerba Gavi 2018

Retail: $15.95 | Sale: $14.35

In 1973, Ida Cozzio and Livio Lorenzi purchased La Zerba, a country estate in Ligurian-Piedmont Apennines, amongst the beautiful green hills of Gavi. At 1,476 feet above sea level, they yield crisp white wines with zesty, mineral characteristics. The vineyard produces classic Gavi, and fully converted to organic viticulture with the 2015 harvest. This particular vintage shows a pale straw/yellow color, a delicate and quite elegant bouquet with a pleasing floral scent mingled with honeydew melon. Round on the palate, a nice body and a good balance between acidity and the ripe fruits. The finish is long, clean and persistent.

Cupertinum Copertino Riserva 2010

Origin: Italy
Retail: $15.95 | Sale: $14.35

In the Apulian plain, in the center of the Salento peninsula, between the Ionian and the Adriatic sea, extends the territory of Copertino. On this red soil, vineyards and olive trees harmoniously alternate: century-old twisted trunks of olive trees often introduces the characteristic Apulian shrub-vines that produces this strong and generous wine. The result is generous, nicely focused aromas and flavors of red fruit, tar, licorice and underbrush. This wine has a marvelous acid-fruit-tannin balance and finishes long, smooth and breezy. A knockout wine and an exceptional buy for the money.
