Valravn Chardonnay 2017

Origin: California
Retail: $23.95 | Sale: $21.55

Cold climate vineyards in the Sonoma Coast provide a core of minerality, ripe peach, and apple with a touch of citrus. These fresh notes are balanced by richer flavors of toasted hazelnuts, and ripe pineapple that come from the barrel fermented Russian River component. Overall, the Valravn Chardonnay walks the delicate line between high toned freshness, and the more powerful flavors of barrel fermented Chardonnay. This is a crowd-pleasing white and a great go-to for dinner parties with family or friends!

Saint George Nemea 2018

Origin: Greece
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

A native of Argos in the Peloponnesus, George Skouras is one of the true pioneers of the modern Greek wine renaissance. At a time when very few producers were making world-class wine of any kind, Skouras was receiving his oenology degree from Dijon in Burgundy and scraping together all his resources for what was then a bootstrapped garage project in the mid-1980s. This wine hails from the Nemea appellation within the Peloponnese region. One-hundred percent Aghiorghitiko from 20+ year old vines; it is planted in clay soils at 650-meters above sea level. The nose reveals aromas of blackberries, raspberries, and ripe strawberries with just a touch of tobacco and spices such as clove and cinnamon. It is a medium-bodied wine with elegant structure, balanced acidity and very ripe, elegant tannins. The finish is moderately-long, dominated by red fruits and followed by sweet vanilla and black pepper.
