Pascal Biotteau Anjou Blanc 2020

Origin: France
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

Sourced from vineyards that fall exactly along the border of the two sub-regions of Anjou, this gorgeously subtle white from fourth-generation winemaker Pascal Biotteau comes from the village of Saint-Jean-de-Mauvrets, situated on the old Roman road from Angers to Poitiers.

The fresh acidity of the Anjou Blanc’s limestone with the flinty, mouth-coating richness of the “Anjou Noir,” the estate’s classic style offers a beautiful composite picture of Anjou as a whole, with honeyed notes of apricot giving way to a tangy mineral finish. The sort of classic “bistro wine” wine that you’d dream of drinking on a warm summer evening in Paris, it’s fantastic for fresh goat-cheese salads, fish in cream sauce, or even herb-roasted pork or chicken. Just don’t serve it too cold, according to Mary, to avoid masking its full depth and aromatic complexity.

100% Chenin Blanc

Agenais Rosé by Christophe Avi 2020

Origin: France
Retail: $17.95 | Sale: $16.15

Agenais is the IGP that was established in 2011 to capture the specific wines from the Lot-et-Garonne area of Southwest France. This Agenais rosé is made from his younger vines, no more than 20 years, and consists of juice from Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon. Christophe makes wines with minimal intervention - no chemicals in the vineyard, all natural yeast, and a light filtration so that you get aromatics of earth, wet stone, nuanced fruit – those notes which make wines of terroir so elegant.

Fresh cherry and tangy watermelon welcome you into the glass. On the palate orange blossom and lime leaf come forward finishing with a dusty minerality.

80% Cabernet Sauvignon | 20% Cabernet Franc

Freelander Pinot Noir 2020

Origin: California
Retail: $15.95 | Sale: $14.35

Freelander is sourced through select vineyards that produce elegant and impressive wines. Most of the fruit comes from small production vineyard blocks in California’s central valley.

Aged in French and American oak, it shows baked cherry and violet in the nose. Crisp flavors of red currant, baking spice and vivid strawberries balance the mouth feel. A touch of toasted oak completes the gentle finish. This is a value-driven Pinot Noir that is perfect for the summer.

100% Pinot Noir

Domaine de la Charbonniere Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2016

Origin: France
Retail: $39.95 | Sale: $35.95

It was in 1912 that Eugene Maret bought Domaine de la Charbonniere as a gift for his wife who was a native of Châteauneuf and the daughter of a winemaker. It has stayed in the family since and today Michel Maret and his two daughters have over 16 hectares of vineyards located in the high plateaux of Les Brusquieres and La Crau.

Dense, dark, ripe profile of the vintage, with a core of steeped currant and boysenberry fruit, supported by a dense structure, notes of dark earth, tobacco and bitter cocoa, and a long finish that ripples with latent energy.

70% Grenache | 15% Syrah | 15% Mourvèdre
