Guide Field Blend 2020

Origin: Virginia
Retail: $21.95 | Sale: $19.75

We’ve been patiently waiting for this special little project by Rich Sullivan and feel lucky to be one of the first to have it hit our shelves! Only 65 cases made, the grapes in this Field Blend are coming from Bethany Ridge Vineyard in Loudoun County, VA. Everything was hand-harvested and pressed together. The resulting juice was inoculated and fermented in stainless steel drums, after which about 1/3 of the wine was moved to a neutral Acacia barrel where it was aged on it's lees for 6 months.

This wine has wonderful body with racy acidity that lifts everything up, making it feel zesty. The finish is long and evolving, with a hint of salinity that keeps you coming back for more.

65% Petit Manseng | 35% Viognier

Elena Walch Pinot Grigio 2020

Origin: Italy
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

Elena Walch is actually an architect, but in the 1980s, when she married into the Walch winegrowing family in Termeno, wine became the main focus of her life. Since that time, it has been with commitment, self-confidence, and no compromise that she has implemented her ideas of sustainability in the vineyard and the winery and developed her terroir wines.

Savory and bright, this lovely white has aromas of white stone fruit and whiffs of white spring flower. Reflecting the nose, the tangy palate doles out ripe yellow pear, creamy apple and a hint of nectarine before a clean, dry close. Brimming with sliced-apple and white-peach aromas, this juicy and pristine dry white has lovely lemon-and-lime freshness though the long, crisp finish.

100% Pinot Grigio | 90 Points Wine Enthusiast | 91 Points James Suckling

Domaine Sorin Rosé Terra Amata Côtes de Provence 2020

Origin: France
Retail: $17.95 | Sale: $16.15

The late Luc Sorin, a man Robert Parker has called “one of the most exciting winegrowers the South of France has to offer,” purchased this 14 hectare Bandol estate in 1994, and quickly converted it to organic principles. The domaine is just over a mile away from the Mediterranean Sea.

Aromas of white peach and citrus fruit welcome you into the glass. The fruit translates to the palate with refreshing hints of minerals and spice.

60% Grenache | 30% Cinsault | 10% Syrah

Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant Rouge 2019

Origin: California
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

This is the new, re-engineered Le Cigare Volant from Bonny Doon Vineyard. Compared to the old blend, winemaker Randall Grahm dropped the Mourvedre from the blend and greatly increased the Cinsault.

This southern Rhône inspired cuvee begins with a lovely aroma of varied red fruits, licorice, cedar and wintergreen. The more you swirl it the more you uncover, so much so that it's hard not to just keep sticking your nose in the glass. Nice touches of spice lead into the dry, grippy, very long and savory finish. This is a wonderfully satisfying wine for the price.

56% Grenache | 30% Cinsault | 13% Syrah |
1% Petite Sarah

La Stoppa Emilia Rosso Trebbiolo 2019

The 32 hectare La Stoppa estate is situated in the province of Piacenza in the Emilia-Romagna region of northen Italy and has been run by Elena Pantaeoni since the early 1990's. Upon its purchase, Elena immediately began replacing the existing international grape varieties with the indigenous Barbera and Bonarda grapes. Then with the help of her oenologist, Giulio Armani, the estate was converted to organic production with certification being granted in 2008.

Aromas of sweet red cherries and earthy spices on the nose. The palate is dry yet lively with a refreshing acidity and zesty finish.
