Fedora Pinela 2019

Origin: Auvergne, France
Retail:
$24.95 | Sale: $22.46

Fedora is a nod to the tradition and self sacrifice of ancestors persevering in a stone terrain windswept by the Bora wind.  Sustainably cultivated grapes, matured in wooden barrels and concrete eggs and maceration of white wines are all trademarks of the Fedora wine cellar.  Pinela is a white autochthonous wine grape, grown almost exclusively in Slovenia’s Vipava wine region.  It has a distinctive, recognizable and gentle varietal bouquet, fruity and floral in character.  The flavor is full, harmonious and very smooth.

Le Chemins de l’Arkose ‘Oppidum’ 2020

Origin: Auvergne, France
Retail: $24.95 | Sale: $22.46

The Les Chemins de l’Arkose domaine is located in the heart of Montpeyroux in the Auvergne region. Yvan Bernard and Audrey Baldassin cultivate 8-hectares of vines on the various beautiful terroirs of Puy-de-Dôme. The soils are clay-limestone, more or less mixed with volcanic ash with basaltic intrusions. In a vineyard area that is very fragmented and therefore difficult to mechanize, they work by hand and with respect for the environment and according to the precepts of organic culture.  A former student of the Beaune wine school in Burgundy, Yvan Bernard settled in the region in 2001 at the age of 22. Not being from a winegrowing family, he had to rent plots of vines from different owners to start him on his path. For twenty years, he converted his domaine to organic farming and offered wines under his name. In 2020, Yvan joined forces with Audrey Baldassin who had already been working at the estate for a few years. The estate became Les Chemins de l’Arkose and so the adventure continued.

$26.95 | Sale: $24.26

The Bertolino farm was founded in 2017 by the will of two brothers, Salvatore and Gabriele.By recovering the remains of the old family winery now abandoned, they decided to produce a wine that can tell the market about the enoic potential of this strip of land in extreme western Sicily, which has always been the object of conquest by all the peoples of the Mediterranean and, not least, by various "colleagues". Thus was born "Fuitina",

their first official product, from an old Catarratto vineyard that extends for 5000 square meters on a hill of white marl in the Marsala hinterland. Fuitina is fermented on the skins in open concrete for four days before pressing. Production is concentrated in a few thousand bottles produced from organic grapes, vinified according to the natural winemaking regime, therefore without the use of selected yeasts and / or enological additives of any kind, in addition to sulfur dioxide.

At the same time,  they combine Slovak new nobles with varieties, the cultivation of which has a long tradition in the Ružová and Vlča valleys. From blue varieties they currently grow Portugal blue, Frankovka blue, Danube, Hron and Rosa.
