Andres Blanchard is the fourth generation of a family that for decades has dedicated itself to the wine industry with passion despite the difficulties. The tradition was started by his great-grandfather Nicolás Perez Ugarte, in the 1930s, working for one of the oldest and most recognized wineries in Mendoza, Bodega Arizu in the center of Mendoza. The origins of Cava lie in the winemaking area of Penedés, especially in the town of San Sadurní d’Anoia and its surroundings, which has earned the title of Cava capital. However, for historical reasons, Cava can also be made in certain other towns and regions. Cava de Guarda is the entry-level classification for Spanish sparkling wine under the D.O. Cava, requiring a minimum of 9 months of aging on lees, resulting in fresh, fruity, and vibrant wines.

Nestled in the rolling hills of western Sonoma County, the Russian River/Green Valley appellation is a perfect microclimate for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Only 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean and 50 miles north of San Francisco, the Don Miguel Vineyard site is influenced by the sea’s cooling breezes and drifting fog. That is why Marimar Torres selected this privileged location to “export” the Torres family legacy of fine wines to California. Acero is the Spanish word for steel and it refers to the fact that this wine has never seen any oak.

The Steindorfer winery was founded in 1926 by Rudolf Steindorfer. In 1971, Ernst Steindorfer, the son of Rudolf Steindorfer, entered the wine business and, together with his wife Rosi, expanded the winery. Young winemaker Roland Steindorfer has been in charge of the business since 2012. The winery is located in Apetlon, in the midst of the picturesque lake and plains of the Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel National Park, in the easternmost province of Austria, Burgenland. The lowest measured point in the country is located in their community at 114 meters above sea level. The vineyards do not grow on slopes or hills, but are embedded in a flat, unique landscape that cannot be found anywhere else in Austria. The Neusiedlersee area lies in the heart of the Pannonian climate zone. This area is characterized by hot, dry summers with moderate rainfall and cold winters with little snow. The area is also home to nutrient-rich black soil, calcareous gravel soil and salty, sandy soil.
