Pullus Haložan Orange 2022

Origin:
Štajerska, Slovenia
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.96

The terrain of the entire Štajerska region is made up of steep-sloped vineyards and narrow, wind-rich hill valleys. A diverse geological soil composition, consisting mainly of sand and clay with marl in the lower layers. The vineyards spread out over the finest wine-growing sites of Haloze Hills as well as Slovenske Gorice. Haložan Orange is an ode to the traditional local wines of Štajerska, as well as the ancient winemaking techniques of skin contact fermentation for white wines. As opposed to many overly complex skin contact wines, this orange wine is made for everyone. Fresh and fruity but still exhibiting the color and funky nuances of a skin contact white, this is an orange wine of the people, for the people, by the people.  On the nose, Haložan Orange is still fresh and fruity with aromas of stone fruits, dried herbs and zesty notes of subtle graphite. Gentle tannins on the palate with fresh acidity and loads of exotic fruits and herbs. 90% Welschriesling and 10% Muskat

Domaine Rolet Arbois Pinot Noir 1988 Magnum 1.5L

Origin:
Jura, France
Retail:
$135 | Sale: $121.50

Tucked into the Mountains, Jura flanks France’s eastern side on Switzerland's border. Gifted with rugged natural beauty, idyllic villages dot the landscape filled with some of the most hospitable folks you'll find anywhere in the world. Though near France's most famous epicurean regions, Jura has a food and wine culture wholly its own. All of this is only accentuated by the generous and humble nature of those who call Jura home. It was Désiré Rolet who in 1942 began making wine in the small region of the Jura in eastern France. In 1958, his four children all decided to stay in the family business and took over from their father. Since that time the domaine has risen in prominence in the region and acquired prime old vine vineyards in the appellations of Arbois and Côtes du Jura. From the beginning, quality farming has been the focus; today the domaine is undergoing a complete conversion to organic farming, which in their steep-sloped vineyards can be quite difficult indeed. No herbicides or pesticides are ever used and the soils are constantly plowed.  Most wines are aged for around 18 months in oak, replacing a quarter of their barrels each year. The resulting wines have gained the Domaine a reputation for excellence with wine professionals and drinkers alike with their purity and concentration.  100% Pinot Noir
