Sorgente Prosecco Brut NV Friuli

Origin: Venezia Giulia, Italy
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.96

The Sorgente project was born out of the mutual desire for The Source (an import company based in California) and a special undisclosed estate (sorry!) to work together with only their Prosecco wines. Sorgente Prosecco comes from a six hectare parcel of Glera vines located in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and a solid golf shot away from the Veneto border to the west, the vineyards sit only a few hundred meters from the natural spring (called sorgente in Italian) at the nascita of the Livenza River. Void of all herbicides and pesticides, and grown on limestone and clay mixed with river alluvium, all the grapes are harvested by hand (a rarity with Prosecco DOC wine) and a triage of the free run juice and only the first half of the press juice is reserved for the final bottling. Primary fermentation takes place naturally while the second fermentation is made with cultured yeast to ensure the right final balance. Crisp green apple, creamy, vibrant minerality and high acidity. 100% Glera

Les Athlètes du Vin Gamay 2022

Origin
: Loire Valley, France
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.96

Les Athlètes du Vin is a négociant project focused on typical, value-driven wines from the Loire Valley. The idea was conceived by a group of French winemakers called Vini Be Good, who work together to distribute their wines across France. The wines are vinified by various members of the Vini Be Good network using their own grapes or grapes purchased from friends and neighbors in the Loire. We are proud to present these wines made by their friends and family, as several of the cuvées are vinified by Gérard Vallée, brother of Mathieu Vallée from Château Yvonne. The labels for Les Athlètes du Vin are drawings by French artist, illustrator, and cartoonist Michel Tolmer, who has been the unofficial lead artist of the French natural wine movement since the 1990s. This bright and easy-drinking wine is loaded with flavors of bright red fruits, black cherries, and violets. 100% Gamay

Skull Wines Red 2021

Origin: California
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.96

When Patrick Capiello was a sommelier and restaurateur at some of New York’s finest restaurants (Tribeca Grill, Veritas, GILT and Pearl and Ash), he was frustrated by the lack of affordable, varietally honest wines from California. In 2018, he teamed up with longtime friend Pax Mahle, formerly a wine buyer for Dean and Deluca and since 2000, proprietor of Pax Wine, one of the leaders of California’s third wave of wineries. Together they craft beautiful, unmanipulated, terroir-driven wines from organic, family-run vineyards. All of the wines are blends produced from fruit that comes from the same locations as the fruit for his Monte Rio Cellars project. The primary difference between the two is that the Skull Wines are blends from several different sites, whereas the Monte Rio wines are single vineyard expressions of a single varietal. Like his Monte Rio Wines the Skull bottlings are produced from all sustainable &/or organically farmed vineyards, made naturally with only native/ambient yeasts, fermented in a combination of cement & stainless steel before being aged in neutral wood. Notes of ripe berries, red currants, cherry compotes, and sweet spice lead to a lingering, acid-driven finish. 30% Zinfandel, 20% Syrah, 20% Mission, 10% Petite Sirah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, & 10% Alicante Bouchet
