Dawn Chorus Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Origin:
Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.95

Aotearoa, New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to greet the morning sun. This fresh start is accompanied by a dawn chorus (or waraki in Māori) of melodic birdsong echoing from tree to tree. This sound is distinctly of its place and in a forest where birdlife is flourishing, this early morning wake up call can be almost deafening. Grown inland about 20 miles from the sea and nestled at the bottom of uplifted limestone hills, this vineyard block is influenced by the river that used to flood across the valley floor 45,000 years ago. Grapes are harvested in the early morning, shortly after dawn chorus, naturally fermented, and laid on the lees to create texture and complexity. A wine bursting with character, classic grapefruit and citrus notes, some minerality, passionfruit and gold melon flavors. A bright acidity and a hint of crunchy phenolics make this a mouth filling, interesting and very drinkable wine. 100% Sauvignon Blanc

Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas Rose 2022

Origin:
Paso Robles, California
Retail:
$27.95 | Sale: $25.15

Tablas Creek is a pioneer of California’s Rhone Grape movement. Founded in 1989, it is the culmination of a friendship between two of the international wine community’s leading families dating back to 1967: the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the Haas family of Vineyard Brands. Tablas Creek’s 135 acres of estate vineyard is largely dry-farmed, limiting yields and emphasizing character of place. They were the first Regenerative Organic Certified vineyard in the world and have been organic since their inception. Winemaking includes native yeast, small-lot fermentation, and the use of neutral French oak barrels. The Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin de Tablas Rosé is a rosé blend in the tradition of Provence, produced from three red Rhône varietals. A pretty light peach color. On the nose, bright aromatics of mandarin orange, cherry blossom, wild strawberry, and chalky minerals. The mouth is bursting with yellow plum and nectarine, salty minerality, bright acids, and a lingering finish with notes of sea spray and citrus pith. 67% Grenache, 21% Mourvedre, 9% Counoise, 3% Vermentino

Legado del Moncayo Garnacha ‘Montaña’ 2020

Origin:
Campo de Borja, Spain
Retail:
$14.95 | Sale: $13.45

Isaac Fernández Selección is a unique collaborative venture between two individuals – Isaac Fernández, one of Spain’s most acclaimed winemakers, and Aurelio Cabestrero, whose vision and commitment helped bring Spanish wines to the forefront in the United States. They work at rediscovering forgotten regions of superior terroir and maximizing the potential from old vines of indigenous grape varieties in a number of regions. This wine is made from vines averaging 40 years old. The old bush vines are grown at high elevation, 700-750 meters above sea level on a rugged, windy, exposed hillside that forces the vines to struggle to grow. On the palate the wine is deep, ripe, full-bodied and chewy, with an excellent core of fruit, fine soil inflection, firm tannins and a long, complex and promising finish. 100% Garnacha
