Le Garenne Cremant de Loire
Origin: France
Retail: $27.95 | Sale: $25.15
This soft golden wine, with delicate small bubbles, is crafted from a blend of 70% Chenin Blanc, 20% Chardonnay, and 10% Cabernet Franc. All grapes are sourced from Vaudelnay, on the south bank of the Loire, from plots situated 100 meters above sea level on Jurassic soil, which combines flint and iron oxide. Initial fermentation occurs in stainless steel using natural yeasts. Following a second fermentation, the wine ages for nine months in the bottle. On the nose, it presents notes of stone fruit, white florals, honey, and almonds. The palate offers tones of white fruit, citrus, a hint of honey, and almonds, with a slight acidity.
Domaine Reverdy-Ducroix Sancerre 2024
Origin: France
Retail: $45.95 | Sale: $41.35
With a history tracing back to the 16th century, the Reverdy-Ducroux domaine has been shaped by 14 generations, with traditions passed from father to son. Today, the domaine has expanded significantly, encompassing 50 plots across Sancerre's most prestigious terroirs. From the village of Verdigny, this classic Sancerre offers bright acidity and a delightful texture. Its balanced flavors of citrus, Bosc pear, and fresh herbs lead to a mouthwatering finish that perfectly showcases the estate's rocky Kimmeridgian limestone terroir.
Antiquum Farm “Alium” Pinot Gris 2023
Origin: Oregon
Retail: $53.95 | Sale: $48.55
At the Locke Store, we’re huge fans of Antiquum Farm- not just because their wines are incredible, but because they are truly committed to sustainable farming. Soil is restored using grazing based viticulture, so the need to replenish nutrients is eliminated by the “movements” of goats and pigs. The site itself is also perfect for the climate of Willamette Valley, sitting 800 feet above sea level and facing the South. Forty days of skin maceration roots Alium in an earthbound tone and bends Antiquum Farm's tropicality toward an herbaceous savory character, while the textural tension lends layers of density and intrigue.
Slater Run Vineyards The Pit Jumper 2021
Origin: Virginia
Retail: $43.95 | Sale: $39.55
This wine is dedicated to the “pit jumpers” of the world. For Slater Run Vineyards’ owners Kiernan and Chris, it is all about the “jump” or “leap of faith” to come back to Virginia in 2011, live on the family farm with their two children and start, with Kiernan’s parents Alice and Bob, the vineyard and winery there. This popular full-bodied red blend is majority Petit Verdot.
