Poilvert-Jacques Champagne Brut NV
Origin: France
Retail: $52.95 | Sale: $47.65
The Poilvert family, with a winemaking legacy dating back to 1663 in Talus-St Prix (Marne Valley), continues to produce elegant Champagnes. Jacques Poilvert, assisted by his daughter, cultivates nearly 8 hectares of premier vineyards. The NV Brut, a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Meunier, is aged for three years on lees. This results in a pale straw-colored Champagne with delicate aromas of white peaches and stone fruit, complemented by biscuit and brioche. The Brut offers a harmonious and classy palate with a long finish and lively bubbles. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or throughout a meal, particularly with pork or heartier fish.
Za Za Garnacha Rosé 2024
Origin: Spain
Retail: $12.95 | Sale: $11.65
If you're a fan of "glou glou" wines – those fun, easy-drinking natural wines – or simply appreciate an excellent rosé at an incredible value, this one's for you. Crafted from 100% Grenache, this wine undergoes 24-48 hours of skin contact for color, then ferments and rests for a few weeks in old French and American oak casks. The result is a wine bursting with vibrant red berry flavors, a rich and full-bodied palate, and a refreshingly tangy, dry, and highly drinkable finish. While its flavors are a bit deeper than most Provençal rosés, it remains exceptionally refreshing and completely dry.
Château de Ségries Côtes-du-Rhône 2023
Origin: France
Retail: $18.95 | Sale: $17.05
This Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Carignan blend (50/30/10/10) is a true “table wine” Cotes-du-Rhone. It offers ripe, rich, and round flavors of black raspberry, white pepper, and spice, with good concentration and acidity. The wine underwent 8 days of skin maceration in temperature-controlled vats and was aged 90% in concrete tanks and 10% in oak barrels. Enjoy it with a wide variety of foods, from pizza and pasta to hamburgers, or even on its own, slightly chilled. Unfussy and delicious!
Noble Hill Estate Reserve 2021
Origin: South Africa
Retail: $26.95 | Sale: $24.25
This Cabernet Sauvignon blend (46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot) offers aromas and flavors of fresh black currant, plum, and a hint of mint, with well-integrated oak. It can be confidently enjoyed now through 2031. Produced by Kristopher Tillery, a small estate grower and pioneer of the organic movement in South Africa, these wines reflect the granite soils of Simonsberg's picturesque mountainside. The vineyards are nestled among wild olives, indigenous forest, and carefully preserved renosterveld. Tillery's winemaking approach is light-handed, dedicated to preserving the natural character of the estate's organic vineyards. The keys on the label represent the antique keys still used to open the gates of each specific vineyard.
