Cantina della Volta Brutrosso 2017

Origin: Italy
Retail: $28.95 | Sale: $25.95

Cantina della Volta is the result of one hundred years and four generations of experience by the Bellei family, winemakers from Bomporto di Modena since 1920. This wine consists of 100% Lambrusco Sorbara. The grapes were harvested in September in 2017 and all of their sparkling wines see a minimum 22 months on the lees. The bubbles created by the traditional method are elegant and persistent. On the nose, inviting fragrances of raspberries and juicy wild strawberries mix with intriguing citrus notes. On the palate, the entrance is bold, as an authentic Sorbara wine, then it spreads with rich fruity flavors. A beautiful and clean finish provides excellent harmony and balance with the fresh acid and salty flavors.

La Staffa Verdicchio 2023

Origin: Italy
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

The La Staffa estate was founded in 1994 by the Baldi family in the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico zone in the Marche province. Their Verdicchio is grown organically in limestone-rich clay soil at about 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level. The grapes are picked into small boxes, pressed immediately, and fermented using indigenous yeasts at cool temperatures in a mixture of stainless steel and cement tanks. This wine is aromatic with almond, citrus, green apple, and herbal notes and this is exactly reflected on the palate as well. The weight on the palate is medium, complimented by fresh acidity and a long finish. We love this one as an aperitif, but it pairs well with most any seafood dish (think seafood pastas) or roast chicken.

Domaine Vincent Revault Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2021

Origin: France
Retail:
$43.95 | Sale: $39.55

Domaine Gaston et Pierre Ravaut has been a family estate for 6 generations, the last of which is represented by Jules, who joined his father Vincent 4 years ago. The estate produces wines from the Ladoix terroir, at the foot of the Corton hillside (80% reds, 20% whites), with all levels of appellation, matured and vinified in Burgundy tradition. The domaine straddles the fault line between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, with most wines in the southern zone. This wine is incredible for this price point- notes of raspberry are anchored with layered licorice and soft tannins that will enhance with age. This would be a beautiful choice for the Thanksgiving table or any richer, earthier foods.

Antiquum Farm Passiflora Pinot Noir 2021

Origin: Oregon
Retail: $89.95 | Sale: $80.95

At Locke Store, we’re huge fans of Antiquum Farm- not just because their wines are incredible, but because they are truly committed to sustainable farming. Soil is restored using grazing based viticulture, so the need to replenish nutrients is eliminated by the “movements” of goats and pigs. The site itself is also perfect for the climate of Willamette Valley, sitting 800 feet above sea level and facing the South. This Pinot Noir is stunning and unique. Tropical notes and vibrant acidity shine through a texture that provides movement, creating a wine that quietly challenges traditional American Pinot Noir.
