Régis Minet Pouilly-Fumé Vieilles Vignes 2019

Origin: France
Retail: $29.95 | Sale: $26.95

Régis Minet inherited the domaine from his late grandfather, Robert Minet, who was a an artisan tonnelier. Pouilly-sur-Loire produces one of the greatest Sauvignon Blancs in the world. Régis’ vineyards sit at 750 feet, surrounded by hills on the far east of the Loire River, and centered proudly on the prized limestone and clay of the Kimmeridgian chain. The scattered flint in these vineyards influences the wines with a character quite distinctive from the neighboring village of Sancerre. A perfect balance between classic Sauvignon Blanc fruit and a gorgeous minerality that brings the terroir straight to your glass.

Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant Rouge 2018

Origin: California
Retail: $19.95 | Sale: $17.95

This is the new, re-engineered Le Cigare Volant from Bonny Doon Vineyard. Compared to the old blend, winemaker Randall Grahm dropped the Mourvedre from the blend and greatly increased the Cinsault. This southern Rhône inspired cuvee begins with a lovely aroma of varied red fruits, licorice, cedar and wintergreen. The more you swirl it the more you uncover, so much so that it's hard not to just keep sticking your nose in the glass. Nice touches of spice lead into the dry, grippy, very long and savory finish. This is a wonderfully satisfying wine for the price.

Cantine Valpane Barbera Monferrato Rosso 2017

Origin: Italy
Retail: $17.95 | Sale: $16.15

A beautiful red value – this 100% Barbera is from the village of Monferrato, in Piedmont. Although the village names of Asti and Alba may be more widely recognized, owner Pietro explains that the Monferrato region provides an even more traditional & beautiful expression of Barbera. This is due in part to the warmer climate and longer hours of sunlight here, which allow the grapes to ripen completely and unfurl the full personality of the variety. Supple, with ripe black fruit & plum notes, silky-smooth, and extremely food-friendly, you won’t find much more bang for your buck than what’s in this bottle. A dark garnet robe leads to a deep, earthy fruit nose and a palate loaded with classic, spicy Barbera fruit and smooth tannins followed by a deliciously perfumed, dry finish.
