Glen Manor Vineyards
Glen Manor is situated on a western flank of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The surrounding mountains, ranging between 1400 and 3400 feet in elevation, form a “Glen” which gives the vineyards a unique environment: A world of its own. The vines grow high on very steep mountain slopes characterized by deep, well-draining, and rocky soils. The original six acre vineyard was established in 1995. Resting between 1000 and 1200 feet in elevation with the valley floor below at 800 feet, this mainly western exposed vineyard site’s soils are deep and well drained.  They have now expanded to 15 acres with even more varieties to offer in future years.

Morales Rosé 2021

Origin:
Front Royal, Virginia
Retail:
$27.95 | Sale: $25.16

This rosé is a blend of early harvested Cabernet Franc fruit and saignée juice from their other red varieties as the red harvest unfolded. This is the third vintage that they introduced Nebbiolo into the blend, and the whole is fermented in stainless steel barrels. A portion of the Cabernet Franc fruit underwent carbonic maceration, which provides the rosé with a soft, delicate nose and tasting profile. A more delicate version of their rose invoking the subtle floral nuances of Provence and a great salinity. 72% Cabernet Franc, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 3% Nebbiolo, 3% Petit Verdot

Vin Blanc 2022

Origin:
Front Royal, Virginia
Retail:
$29.95 | Sale: $26.96

A brand new wine for Glen Manor this year combining their two white grape plantings on the property. Two separate fermentations took place – one with Sauvignon Blanc, and another a co-fermentation of Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Manseng.  The two lots were then blended and rested in stainless steel barrels. This new wine is a great combination of the two grapes with characteristics of each variety showing through. The palate is full and rich and has a long and lingering finish. 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Petit Manseng

Cabernet Franc 2021

Origin:
Front Royal, Virginia
Retail:
$47.95 | Sale: $43.16

This two acre planting from both 2008 and 2009 grows on a steep, rocky and warm southern exposed slope. The grapes were harvested on September 22.  Half were inoculated with commercial yeast and half were allowed to naturally ferment, utilizing native yeast strains from the vineyards.  The blends were assembled the following summer. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, and will continue to improve over time. This is a singularly delicious example of fully ripe cabernet franc offering dark cherry aromatics with a reserve of acidity that lingers and entices you for another sip. 100% Cabernet Franc

Vin Rouge 2021

Origin: Front Royal, Virginia
Retail:
$35.95 | Sale: $32.36

This table style red has less oak aging than ST. Ruth and Hodder Hill. The warmth of the 2021 vintage helped to create a Vin Rouge with a distinctive fruit profile and significant structure. Bottled unfiltered and unfined, and will continue to improve over time.  Ripe black raspberry fruit rises quickly from the glass and leads into dark chocolate and coffee bean aromas.  The tannins are fine and slowly coat the palate before the fresh acidity races to the freshen up the finish. Delicious complexity for a vin rouge. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 17% Cabernet Franc
