Paul Direder Grüner Veltliner 2021

Origin:
Wagram, Austria
Retail:
$11.95 | Sale: $10.75

Direder, a name that stands for high quality wines since 1849, is rooted in tradition and has evolved over the generations. Working in his own vineyards since he was 17, he produces high quality wines for your everyday enjoyment. When Paul D.'s great-great grandfather, Leopold Direder, earned his living with traditional agriculture in the wine region of the Wagram in 1849, he did not expect that his wines would one day conquer the world. This charming Grüner Veltliner ranks among the best white wine values year after year. It shows deliciously ripe flavors with the bracing acidity and herbaceous character typical of “Grüner”. Paul has been converting the vines to strict organic viticulture and will be certified next year. Aromatic, light, and easy-drinking with freshly scented green apple and a pleasant acidity with delicate citrus notes. 100% Grüner Veltliner

Paul Direder Rosé 2022

Wagram, Austria

The Direder farm is located in the village of Mitterstockstall in the Wagram region. The Wagram roughly consists of a 25-mile long ridge between the towns of Krems and Tulln with soils made up of ancient gravel sediments from the Danube River as well as layers of loess that formed in the ice age which cover the substrate of marine deposits and river gravels. The name Wagram comes from "Wogenrain" meaning "shore". A berry, fruity wine that softly caresses the palate with notes of wild strawberry and ripe strawberry. This rosé provides a nice mouthfeel with lots of freshness and fruit. 100% Zweigelt

Anton Bauer Pinot Noir 2020

Origin:
Wagram, Austria
Retail:
$19.95 | Sale: $17.95

Anton Bauer represents the 4th generation in his family to manage the now 29-hectare winery. After his graduation from the School of Wine and Fruit Growing in Krems, and a training in Burgundy, he worked for more than four years as an oenologist with a renowned Lower Austrian winery. Since 1992, when Anton took over the winery from his parents, at that time 3.2-hectares, he has uncompromisingly pursued his ideas of quality, paying attention to highlighting the typical regional features and the terroir characteristic of the wines that make them incomparable and unique. Anton’s philosophy turned out to be a success, and his wines are in great demand. The typical Austrian wines, topped with an international touch, stand their ground even in the most competitive world markets. This Pinot Noir shows a precise balance between the fruit and acidity that makes it fresh and lively. It has a typical Pinot Noir nose with strawberries, raspberries and floral notes such as violets. On the palate the wine is well balanced, elegant and it has a long finish tasting of red berries. 100% Pinot Noir
