Chateau d’Epiré Savennières 2022
Origin: France
Retail: $32.95 | Sale: $29.65
Paul Bizard, the new generation in charge at this historic Loire Valley property, has wasted no time in showing his youthful energy and ambition since taking over management. His very first step was to initiate an organic conversion, a monumental challenge in a place defined by a stormy oceanic climate and unforgivingly rocky soils. This latest release suggests his work is already paying off, as it stands among the most expressive young Savennières Epiré has bottled. The fleshiness on the palate reflects the Loire’s sunny 2022 summer, yet it finishes dry and chiseled as ever, with lingering notes of acacia blossom and stone.

The 2018 Commitment Shiraz is deep, dark purple in color exuding aromas of blackberries and cherry cola complimented with hints of eucalyptus, licorice, nutmeg and black pepper. Velvety, soft tannins tensioned with tight acidity create a long toasty, cherry licorice finish.
Dirupi Valtellina Superiore Nebbiolo 2018
Origin: Italy
Retail: $45.00 | Sale: $40.50
100% Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) from vines that are up to 100 years old. The grapes were carefully harvested by hand and meticulously sorted at the winery. The grapes saw extended skin maceration of 15–30 days, based on the altitude of the source vineyard. The musts were fermented using locally selected yeasts, in temperature-controlled, stainless-steel tanks. The resulting wines were aged for 12 months in neutral French barrels before being blended and bottled. Enticing aromas of fresh and dried red berries, and crushed rose petals. The palate is remarkably soft and supple, with flavors of red and black cherries, currant and rosewater. The tannin is fine and polished, and in graceful balance with its firm acid core.
