Balea Txakoli 2024
Origin: Spain
Retail: $25.95 | Sale: $23.35
Lightly effervescent, refreshing, and unique - this Txakoli comes from the Basque Country of Spain and is made from Hondarrabi Zur and Hondarrabi Beltza grapes. Txakoli finds itself somewhat parallel to the Portuguese Vinho Verde in nature, though softer and less tart. Jasmine, citrus, and salt make this organic wine a great pairing with smoked fish and cured meats.
Sainte Anne “Le Clocher” Côtes de Provence 2024
Origin: France
Retail: $17.95 | Sale: $16.15
We don’t want to admit that Summer is racing towards an end in Virginia, so we’re squeezing in as many light Rosés as we can in the coming weeks! The Le Clocher has been a staple at Locke Store. We sell it by the glass at the counter, we stock the fridge with it, and we have it stacked on the shelf. It almost sells faster than we can keep it in! This is a true-to-form Provence style Rosé- it is incredibly light and refreshing with a clean finish that perfectly pairs with a day at the pool.
Vinho de Talha Tinto do Tareco 2022
Origin: Portugal
Retail: $27.95 | Sale: $25.15
A dangerously easy drinker, this is a light-bodied and bright red. Sour cherries and ripe whole fruits are mouthwatering on the palate but reigned in by the fine grip in the finish. This beauty is grown in the Alentejo region of Portugal and made in traditional clay pots. Uniquely fresh, this wine shows that Portuguese red blends aren’t all created equally.
Tunella Pinot Nero 2023
Origin: Italy
Retail: $25.95 | Sale: $23.35
It’s less fussy than it sounds! Pinot Nero is just Italian Pinot Noir, though it deserves the differentiation- it is not your typical red Burgundy or California Pinot. The ruby color perfectly reflects the wild berry and raspberry notes. The tannins are soft and powdery and the finish is gentle. This is a favorite with poultry and cheeses. Pay attention to this one because it changes as you drink it!
